the porcelain bars that came with the unit are first to corrode and disintegrate. I'm willing to give stainless steel a try at this price. they are pretty thin metal though and imagine they will have a finite life as well. In just a couple weeks they are blackened and not shiny anymore. If they hold up for a couple of years that would be great. There is a thicker version, but I am not sure it is worth the extra bucks. I can see the importance of these as they protect the burner holes from getting mucked up. Before I put these in I wire brushed the burner tube to make sure all of the openings were clear.

Fits my Genesis Silver perfectly, and $20 cheaper than the equivalent Weber part. The original porcelain bars lasted 5 years - hopefully these will last at least another 5 (at which point the grill will hopefully be replaced with a bigger model anyway). Very pleased, and shipping was fast.Given that the bars are nothing more than properly sized, cut, and bent pieces of stainless steel I don't see why spending the extra $20 is worth it. Weber can't add much in terms of value add for this particular part.

Looked for these at Lowe's and was shocked at how much they wanted. Came home and did some research and found these on Amazon at half the price. The reviews on the product and the seller sounded very good, so I figured they were worth a shot. These do come in different lengths, so be sure which you need before ordering. An inch too long they don't fit and an inch too short and they fall through. I nearly made the mistake of ordering ones too long. These seem to be very well made and fit my grill perfectly. I've cooked several time since installing and there are no problems. I grill a lot, and I expect these will last a good long time. When they need replacing again, I'll come back and buy the same ones.
